Full Services

     We are a full service publishing company that gives you everything you need to publish your book. We Edit your book, design it (book covers and the interior), market the book, we have full distribution through book dealers such as Ingram books (the largest book dealer in the world), and you get it copyrighted through us in your name.  Vanity presses, which make you do self publishing by paying hundreds of dollars to get your book published, cannot do any of this for you. You get these kinds of services if you publish your book traditionally through us or join our partners program. These are the same services a large publishing firm would offer you.

Quality Printing 

    Our printing is the best quality of printing in the United States of America. It’s environmentally safe and when we do color printing  it’s vibrant  with enough weight in the paper to make it of good quality. We never print a book in the cheap mass market type paper that is often seen in "grocery store" paperback books. We want quality printing and that’s what we give our customers. Here are  our specifications when it comes to the products that we print.

Covers are printed in full color 100lb glossy stock  paper for paperback.

Wire-O are printed on 50lb. - 60lb. opaque white paper

Wire-O book covers are printed on 10 pt glossy cover stock

Perfect bound books are printed on 50lb.-60lb. opaque cream paper and white paper.

Perfect bound covers are printed on 10pt stock and are laminated

Hardback are printed in Casebound (cardboard hardback) and Cloth with dust jacket

Hardback Casebound cover is printed in Casebound laminated.

Saddle-stitch books are printed on 50lb opaque white paper.

Saddle-stitch covers are printed on 100lb glossy book weight stock.

Color pages are 80lb. digital white paper stock-We currently only do Paperback.

Discounts

     To have your book accepted by book dealers and to be able to sell in bookstores, the book has to have the right kind of discount. There is a regular (REG)  standard discount that must be set on all books by the publisher – it’s a 55% percent discount off the retail price. This is an industry standard and allows your book the chance to sell in bookstores. Anything less in a discount on the book will make a self published book or what they call a green light title and your book will be ignored by book dealers and books stores. Vanity presses or self publishing companies do not put the standard discount on their books so it make it really hard to market and to even harder to sell. All Starving Writers Publishing titles will have the standard discount – even though we are an independent press we make it easier to publishing and sell your book. We do this because we publish your book right.

    Also as an author when you purchase your own books we give you a 40% discount off the retail price of the book so that you are buying it at wholesale. The book is yours to sell at your own price or give away.  We also have volume pricing depending on how many books you order. See the Volume Pricing Chart below.  Independent presses never offer this kind of discount for authors, but we do. It’s just one more great service we offer.

Distribution

     We have the most comprehensive distribution for books. Although we cannot guarantee which individual stores will buy the book and stock it, your book is made available through all the major books dealers that distribute through major retail outlets. We even have book marketing reps that help promote and  sell your book at a great discount.  Here is a list of our distribution partners.

Marketing

    We market you book through advertising, and our 10 point marketing plan that we use for all of our titles. Also the editor assigned to you works as a PR specialist on you behalf.  As independent press we see the need for effective marketing in order to increase book sales. A vanity press and most independent presses will not do this for you. This is another great service we offer.

Artistic Control

   When publishing a book through Truesource Publishing and its other publishing presses  you will never have to sell the rights to your work to us therefore losing your artistic freedom. We only have the publishing rights to your book. As a publishing firm our goal is to work with you, leaving your artistic freedom with the book intact. We will never change your story and when we edit your books we make sure you’re satisfied with the book before it ever goes to print.   It’s your book and your story; that’s the way it will remain. While we do fix grammar and sentence structure during the editing process we never change the artistic intent in your story, which would be rewriting your story. Most publishers never give you that much freedom unless you self publish the book.

The Independent Press

      We’re an independent press that has all the same services as a large traditional publisher, but with three acceptations  – you remain the sole owner of your work (the books is copyrighted in your name), you keep your artistic freedom, and you never have to sell the rights  to your work in order for it to be published with us.  This a rare thing for an independent press and vanity presses would never put this much work into publishing your book. All they do is take your money and print  the book so essentially your just paying for printing. We are a small press that gives authors as huge amount of services when it comes to publishing a book.
