Beginning the Process of Book Design
|
 |
We want to be very specific on the editing
process at Truesource Publishing. Editing goes
through a three phase process, which means there
will be three people editing the book. We want
different people going through it so we catch
all the mistakes. The editing
we do is only fixing grammatical errors, which
includes fixing sentence structure. We do
not do revisions or rewrite your book. Before a
manuscript is sent to us we expect the writer to
be done with all of their revisions. The
author must be done with their book to the point
that they are happy with how they story is told
and do not need to rewrite it anymore, but the
writer also has to be done with the book
grammatically. We will never accept a manuscript
that has not been edited by the author. We do not want to take
away from the artistic process of the writer
when it comes to revisions and rewrites so we
are only fixing the grammar mistakes. If the
manuscript so bad that we would have to do a
complete re-write of the book then we will send
it back to the author so they can fix it.
We fully except authors to know how to write and
understand the basic rules of grammar.
When we first preview
your manuscript and give you our initial report
on it then we will tell you if you need to
revise anything or do any kind of rewrite. Also
we will tell you if the editing we will have to
do with your manuscript will be considered a
revision or rewrite. Revisions and Rewrites go
way beyond just fixing basic grammatical errors
and thus requires more work. If this is the case
then we will have to charge you
editing fees or rewrite fees. We do not
necessarily want to do this if the rewrites or
revisions can be done by the writer thus keeping
with the artistic process of the writer. However
we will offer suggestions on revisions and
rewrites for you to consider in our initial
report of you manuscript. We
will certainly let you know if you will have to
do more revisions or rewrites. You will have the
option of doing this yourself or be charged for
our professional service in editing or rewrites.
Our report will also reflect what you will have
to do for us to be published and what you will
be charged for this kind of service if you
choose to go through us. Our editing and rewrite
fees are listed below.

How Long does it take to publish a
book |
 |
The time is takes a book to be published starts
from the time you sign a contract with
Truesource Publishing to the release date of the
book. Each kind of book is different, but the
average time is between 4 and 6 months without
any serious delays such as author rewrites.
There can be unforeseen circumstances
that delay a book when it comes to publishing
it. Also we do allow
for enough time to start promoting the books
before it comes out such as advertising before
the street date. We also like to see pre-orders
through our bookstore, Starving Writers Books
and market the book for pre-orders.

Printing Specifications |
 |
Our Printing is the best quality that you can
find in the United States and we do not believe in
using cheap paper like mass market paper backs.
We use different companies for our printing such
as Lightning Source. We do our
printing in “print on demand” when it comes to
our books. Now “print on demand” has always a
bad reputation in the publishing industry
because it always been linked to self publishing
and vanity presses. PRINT ON DEMAND is not bad
as long as it’s done by professional companies
and we use the best in America – Lightning
Source. We do not do our publishing as a “print
on demand” company. We do our printing that
way because it’s cost effective. Lightning
Source is actually a division of Ingram Books.
