About the Book

Labeled a murderess at the age of seven, Kimber Rainsford has no conscious memory of her past. She is attacked by strangers who demand she give up a secret she carries with her but of which she has no knowledge, knowing only that association with her brings pain and death, having lost her biological and adoptive families. When the major convinces her that he will help her uncover her past, she opens her heart, only to have it broken when he and her child are killed. Reinventing herself, she works as a nurse at a hospital near Cape Town, South Africa, where a determined psychiatrist forces her to confront everything she has suppressed. Rediscovered by her pursuers, a life-and-death struggle ensues. Ultimately she must decide whether she has the courage to push through the darkest night of the soul, to attain a life she never dreamed possible.
