Our Publishing Categories

     Traditional Publishing

This is also known as trade publishing. It the type of publishing where the manuscript submitted to the publisher is reviewed and then selected for publishing. The publisher will design the cover, edit it, copyright it, market it, and distribute the book through book stores and book dealers. The publisher will also assign or find a agent or business manager to represent the author and help in the publishing process. Trade publishers sell their books through the channels that have been specifically established for books—bookstores, libraries, and wholesalers. Trade books are published for children, teenagers, and adults. They can be works of fiction or nonfiction, hardcover or paperback. Generally, trade publishing is the most high profile type of publishing as it is the most commercially focused.

    Partners Publishing

This type of publishing is almost the exact same as traditional publishing with one exception. After a manuscript is submitted and reviewed it is not always selected for publishing, but if the manuscript submitted is not selected the author can join the Partners Program.  This type publishing is with our presses Starving Writers Publishing and Imagine Print and Publish. To have your books published through this program you will pay the setup costs for your book to be published through Starving Writers Publishing. You still receive the same full services as traditional publishing, but you have to set your title up with us and there are setup costs. Now after this is done and once you have sold 600 copies of your book you will receive a Publishing Rebate - we give you money back based on the success of your book (purchasing the book with your author discount counts as a sale). The money you receive in the rebate is the fee you paid to set your title up through Starving Writers Publishing. You are rewarded for being our partner in the success of your book. Best of all you will not have to self publish your book. This gives you the chance to publish your book without having to be rejected and to receive full publishing services.  For authors not selected for traditional publishing this is the best option.

      Basic Publishing

This type of publishing is our basic format of publishing. If you do not get selected for traditional publishing and do not want to do the partners program then we have a simple option for you.  You can take advantage of our printing services and our full publishing services such as editing, marketing, design, but you will have limited distribution.  Limited Distribution means that only Truesource Publishing and our bookstores associated with the firm will be distributing the book and once you have a sold at least 300 copies of the book then we will move your book into full distribution. Full distribution means that the book will be available through all the book dealers and major retail book outlets.

4.  Publication - This type of publishing is where you can publish your work in a periodical such as a journal, magazine, online magazine, newsletter, or anthology. All an author has to do is allow the use of their work for a periodical by giving us the publishing rights to the work. For authors that are not ready to publish a book they can use this service to publish their work in literary publications.

There is only so much that we can do, but as the writer you can help sell you book to people through "word of mouth" advertising to other online resources. We believe working together in selling your book since we publish in small runs and print on demand. This digital hard copy and proof of your book is cataloged at the print companies we use so if you would like to order books they will always have it.

We publish e-books. Your book will also be published as an e-book so it can be read on a digital reader.

We have a 10 point plan to market your book. Marketing includes advertising, setting up appearances, and getting you interviews.

Truesource Publishing

Truesource Publishing is our traditional press or trade press. This is the standard format of publishing and just like main stream corporate publishers we accept the submission of any manuscript and decide whether it’s something we would like to publish. If a book is published through Truesource Publishing it’s done with full services. There are no setup fees to get your book published. We take care of everything through this format and with the added bonus of the author’s approval before a book is ever published as well as the book being copyrighted in the author’s name. Unlike most trade publishes where an author might have to sell the rights to their book we allow the author to have final approval of the work from the cover and interior design to the editing.  Author’s still keep their artistic control and more importantly books and authors remain independent. At Truesource Publishing an author doesn’t have to surrender their independence unlike with a corporate publisher. Publishing books with Truesource Publishing is easy and best of all we work with our authors so they are not left out of the process when it comes to publishing of their book while allowing the author to keep their independence.

Starving Writers Publishing

Starving Writers Publishing is our press for beginning writers and authors who don’t want to go through the submission process in order to have their book published. It’s still a full service publisher where authors can still get the same services as a traditional publisher such as editing, marketing, design and full distribution through bookstores and book dealers.  The only difference with Starving Writers Publishing compared to a traditional press is that this kind of publishing format is part our Partners Program. We partner with you to get your work published. All you have to do is set your title up with our firm and pay the setup fees, which will be less than $200 and once you have sold 600 copies of your book then we give back the setup fees in the form of a rebate check. Through Starving Writers Publishing you can get all the same services as a traditional publisher without having to go through the submission process or have your book rejected.  Best of all through this kind of publishing, you will never have to self publish your book because as an author you’re getting full service, which  include a standard discount on your book for book dealers which prevents your book being considered as a self published title and therefore limiting the distribution of the book because the book was not published right. Scroll down below to see what the publisher services are with this press.

Imagine Print & Publish

Imagine House Publishing is our academic and regional  press which focuses on two kinds of publishing services, printing services with limited distribution and print services with full distribution. This is a full service publishing press and part of the Truesource Publishing family. Its one of its subsidiaries. We do publish traditional titles through this press and they are academic titles, business books, and regional titles from time to time throughout the year. However this publishing firm does have a certain aim in the kind of publishing it does.  Unlike a traditional press you will not have to go through a submission process of your manuscript and the possibility of the manuscript being rejected. You can take advantage of our printing services and our full publishing services such as editing, marketing, design, and distribution. In this kind of publishing you have two options. You can have your book published without any setup fees and limited distribution and once you have a sold at least 300 copies of the book then we will move your book into full distribution. This process is called Basic Publishing

The second option is you can take advantage of our Partners Program that works for this press as well. Your book will be a Starving Writers/Imagine House Publishing title. Once you have sold 600 copies of the book then book then we give back the setup fees in the form of a rebate check. The setup fees are still the same as with Starving Writers Publishing. Imagine House Publishing is our publishing press designed for business books and textbooks and regional titles. Although a few novels have been published through this press, Imagine House Publishing is a publishing firm designed for an academic book that remains independent, free from the constraints of corporate publishing. Books published through this press are never edited so they can be more marketable, but remain true to the world of academic literature and critical thinking as well as the author’s vision of the book. Authors still remain in control of their own work while benefiting from the same services as a traditional publisher.
